The continued success of Vitamix has allowed them to put out more than a truckload of amazing new products this year. The Explorian Series is the latest of the bunch, and it's priced so attractively, yet it beholds the always amazing Vitamix quality.

A VITAMIX PRICED FOR THE REST OF US!

If you're a first time Vitamix buyer, price might be a consideration before deciding on the model that best fits your blending needs. At $349.95, it's very affordable, considering that Vitamix blenders are viewed to be $500 USD and above. What's amazing about the E310 is the build quality is solid and it offers features that were not found on earlier models such as dedicated Pulse.

A BLAST FROM THE PAST. KEEPS THE LOOK OF THE LEGACY VITAMIX

If you're familiar with the legacy Vitamix 7500, you will notice the strong resemblance between it and the new Explorian E310. In fact I had to look closely when I first took the E310 out of the box. With the new Vitamix Ascent blenders being the focus of Vitamix's future, there are still customers that appreciate the look of the Legacy Series Vitamix machines

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

The Explorian E310 comes with the smaller 48oz wet blade container which is perfect for making smoothies, frozen desserts, hot soups, purées, nut butters and more. The smaller size allows for making recipes for 1 or more people. Included is the Tamper and a recipe book. This is the general package with every Vitamix blender, so even though the E310 is priced affordably, Vitamix did not skimp on the included accessories.

NOTE: Something to keep in mind. The new Vitamix Ascent Series blenders use new technologies, therefore Vitamix has created specialty containers for them such as the Vitamix 8oz bowl and the Vitamix 20oz blending cups that fit onto the Ascent Series blenders without adapters. These container/bowl kits are not compatible with the Explorian E310.

A FEATURE "LACKING" BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

If you've been a Vitamix owner for years and may be looking to upgrade, a common feature amongst Vitamix machines is missing on the Explorian E310. The dedicated power switch. On the rear side of most Vitamix machines there is a dedicated power switch as you see circled on the white A3500 model in the picture. To switch on the Vitamix E310, the toggle switch on the right front doubles as an ON/OFF switch to stop/start blending and to turn off the machine. Some may prefer the dedicated switch accompanied by an LED light to confirm that power is on, but the lack of the dedicated ON/OFF switch and LED confirmation light is one of the cost cutting "features" of the Explorian E310

One last cost cutting "feature" is the warranty is set at 5 years. You may see other Vitamix machines with either 7 year or 10 year warranties, such as the Legacy Series and the new Ascent Series models. While your Vitamix blender should easily outlast these included warranties, the initial length of the warranty may be something to consider when making a purchasing decision.

HENRY'S THOUGHTS ON THE EXPLORIAN E310

The Vitamix Explorian E310 is the perfect machine for a first time Vitamix buyer, or even for existing customers of older models that are looking to upgrade. Not much missing here! It's even compatible with the 32oz Dry Grains container for making flour and milling spices as well as the Vitamix Personal Cup Adapter for making 20oz single-serve on-the-go drinks. If you need a larger blending container you can order the optional 64oz wet blade container from Vitamix.com

Considering everything you get with the Vitamix E310, (including Tamper, Recipe book and a full 5 year warranty) at $349.95 it's priced affordably for the rest of us!
